Turning Music into Actionable Reperations for Woman, through: Menstruation, Men, Collaboration, Mutual Aid Theory, Halos and a Boogie Dance...

A communal collaboration for a music video has emerged from many people resonating with a song’s message, a message that wants to be heard and lived into our reality and relationships. The song, "Track Your Woman's Bleed", is a message to men to return to their hearts and relearn what has been forgotten: the healing that comes from supporting—and therefore better understanding—women’s (and nature’s) cycles in menstruation, pregnancy and life. And in this action, beginning to create balance and accountability in the global imbalanced masculine.

“Men track your Woman’s Bleed, she will channel what the world needs. Hold your Woman in this sacred time; she will birth a new paradigm...”

Song Chorus

Development of the Song's Message & Purpose:

"When women return to gifting their mentrual blood to the Earth, there will be a time of peace on Earth."

Hopi Prophecy

This song was written by Drew after taking this action himself, learning from the red tent space holders, interviewing birth keepers & elders, and of course applying this knowledge with his life partner; and soon many men who resonated with this path joined forces. The song became an incantation amongst our friends and neighborhood, weaving wisdom and hope to create the much-needed healing the world needs. This message went viral online, showing clearly the world is calling for this union of the feminine and masculine through the sacred portal of the bleed. (Instagram Link)

Music & Menstruation Project Evolving in Alpujarra Valley...

Along the Alpujarra Valley, there is a revolutionary cocktail of a birth-keeper temple, family-centric communities, communal cafes, witches, punk rockers, anarchists, music producers, old campesinos, goat-herders, and folks choosing to shack up closer to Mother Nature.

Drew began recording this song with a friend, Elijah, a musician, songwriter, producer from NYC and general absolute epic human; then students from the infamous Birthing Temple 'Da a Luz' sang on the track, and soon many from the valley wished to support this song and its message...

...and now, like a small ember, it is tended to by all the creatures of this wonderful part of the world, and it’s becoming a glowing warm hearth fire cared for by many: dance choreographers, knit club weavers, mothers, birthkeepers, therapeutic photographers, designers, musicians, artists, jewelry designers, product designers, dancers, and many more are collaborating together to create a music video, set in the very mountains where this medley of talents resides.

Organically Growing & Respecting Natural Resources (Energetic & Material)

And so this project has organically grown, in the womb of this valley, through word of mouth and open mic nights. The very birth of this project reflects the values it sings in its formation, coming into existence as a communal project; people flow into this and are not pushed or persuaded. This wonderful flow respects the nurturing magnetic feminine nature that is so often overlooked or elbowed out of the way.

Creating A Mutual Aid Support Network & Economic Experiment from the Set of a Music Video

People here believe in the message of the song and support it for its own sake. The respect and reverence for women are such that this is what flourishes here. And we believe that people doing what they love can create the structural change needed to birth a new paradigm that is kinder to our nature, families, friendships, and all that makes life a gift to be lived. So within this project, we are setting up a mutual aid system and even trialing an economic system. What we collectively create for this project is made ethically and sustainably - using cradle-to-cradle design principles - and can be sold to support not only the remarkable people in this valley, but also plans to raise funds for a red tent to be held that initiates men to understand: menarchy, menstruation, menopause, and, hopefully in the future, fatherhood.

The song will also be available on Bandcamp, and the donations will be distributed with this mutual aid cooperative economic system.

In Drew’s HE--ART men’s training & support, this same principle is actioned so that the cultural phenomenon can translate to actionable structural and educational change. This includes: monthly online support groups & education that is all donation-based; online courses with elders such as Jewels Wingfield, which are paid, but a part of the funds raised is invested into the red tent mentioned earlier.

When profit is not the driving fuel for motivation, and when fairness, respect, and understanding of natural resources - both energetic and material - are adhered to, it is inevitably heart-led.

This project is a natural experiment in the possibility of creating, living, learning, and contributing to real-world solutions.

We will create a crowdfunding campaign for material costs and will share the link here.

Track Your Woman's Bleed Lyrics:

VERSE 1

When a woman gives her blood to the earth

a time of peace she will birth

While a woman’s blood the Earth is denied

Our men will be sacrificed

VERSE 2

Woman holds in her

The Secrets of the Universe

The closer she is to her Bleed/Needs

The closer Human is to Peace

CHORUS

Men track your women’s bleed

She will channel what the world needs

Hold your woman in this scared time

She will birth a new paradigm

VERSE 3

Born of shame raised in pain

It’s time our sovereignty to reclaim.

For 6000 years we have lost our path

The power of Man is in his heart.

VERSE 4

Brothers cultivate your self-worth

By rebuilding your connecting with the Earth

The only way back into your heart

Is remembering we are born deserving of Love

CHORUS

Men track your women’s bleed

She will channel what the world needs

Hold your woman in this scared time

She will birth a new paradigm

Men revere your women’s bleed

She will channel what this world needs

Hold your woman in this scared time

She will birth a new paradigm

BRIDGE

Men don’t let it go any longer any longer any longer any longer

CHORUS

Men track your woman’s bleed

She will channel what the world needs

Hold your woman in this sacred time

She will birth a new paradigm

Men revere your woman’s bleed

She will channel what the world needs

Hold your woman in this sacred time

She will birth a new paradigm

MIDDLE 8

I’m a warrior I’m a king

I’m a lover and magician

In the business of rebalancing

The sacred masculine

I use my power and my medicine

In service of the feminine

Rebalancing the masculine

will bring the peace and healing

Rebalancing the masculine

will bring the peace and healing.

CHORUS

Men track your woman’s bleed

She will channel what the world needs

Hold your woman in this sacred time

She will birth a new paradigm

Men revere your woman’s bleed

She will channel what the world needs

Hold your woman in this sacred time

She will birth a new paradigm

Mood Boards & Concepts:

We will be referencing the occulted worship of the vulva and the visual language from when the female was still considered the creative life force on Earth.

Mandorlas are said to be a reference to the vulva. We will be weaving mandorla frames along the mountainside, where women will fill in the negative space.

"This oval shape in medieval Christian art is known as a mandorla (Italian for "almond"), or the middle part of two overlapping circles known as vesica piscis. This almond shape is widely accepted as the vulva, from where all human life comes, and it made its way into iconic images of the Virgin Mary, notably the Virgin of Guadalupe (here), Sheela-na-gigs (sexual carvings on churches)."

Quoted from the 2 Miles High website

We will also be creating auric halo crowns - Obviously. ;)

This visual language is an obvious statement to reflect the words in the song that speak to “[revering] your woman’s bleed”. In this case, we will be creating woven mandorlas as altars to revere women.

The men will be adorned with Earth pigments, symbolic of the rock they can be in females' dynamic cycles that change monthly, & over a lifetime.

Inspired by the metaphor of the river being the female energetic force that has many forms—white waters, peaceful, life-giving—and the male as the rocks, which are solid in formation. The river needs the rocks to hold her waters and not dissipate, and the rocks need the river's waters as they bring life. Without the rocks, there is just a puddle; without the waters, there are just walls. Together, they are a valley full of life.

We will be using local natural pigments to create warm reds & dusty pinks, Earthy terracotta & white clay, deep purples, warm coppers & yellowy golds.

Time line:

Aiming to shoot video by end of April.
