Service Description

All levels welcome, including those who think they can't dance; those who love to dance; and those who have never dared to dance. Tango is an inclusive dance for everyone - all ages. It was created in the bustling streets of Buenos Aires by the people, for the people - to come together so that no one, no matter their background, age or skill level, is excluded. In this class we use various movement techniques to help better transmit the complex art of Tango, weaving its history into the lesson. We help our students relax into their bodies to dance, finding a balance between technical guidance according to their body type, and enjoying the discovery of their own personal movement of their tango, to begin to gain the conditions to move as one with their partners. Ultimately, we create dancers, confident to enter the world of the milonga (where tango is danced). Class Structure: Warm up: 10 min Connection Warm up: 30 min Dance Technique: 1 hour Guided Practice: 20 min If needed, 'maté time', to reflect on what was learned in the class, discussing difficulties and achievements. Requirements: - We go to your home to teach. We will need a smooth floor, cleared to make a little room for movement. - A dance partner within your bubble - after all, it takes two to tango. In the milongas of Buenos Aires everyone dances with everyone, so it does not have to be your romantic partner. It is a beautiful experience to share with family too. We teach both roles regardless of gender. - No specific dance shoes required, just a pair of sock to help you pivot. - Comfortable clothes Covid Awareness: We will wear masks during the class. Students will only be in close proximity with people in the same isolation bubble. Cost: £40/hour for couple £30 without partner Regularity: For beginners: we recommend classes once a week to maintain momentum of learning For intermediate: Whenever you need to resolve a specific issue that is blocking your fluency in movement Our teaching experience: - We have taught in London, Bulgaria, Argentina, Mexico, Guatemala - Danced Tango for over a decade - We learned and danced with an eclectic mix from the greatest masters still alive, to the revolutionaries of gender equal tango - We are students of the Tango degree at the University of the Arts in Buenos Aires in the Department of Folklore - Our other degree is in Expresión Corporal, a form of movement therapy To Book Contact: Tel: 07818704529‬ Email: elizabethqc@gmail.com
